Good course. Interesting route choice 5 -> 6, think there was a quicker route over the top & down to the crossing point.

Looks like a lovely place. Thanks for sharing your run. Not sure where in relation, but my friends are moving US-Liverpool area. Map question...seems the mapmaker was remiss in showing that 8 foot high fence...something like that could have definitely affected route choice had a control been on the street side of those first 8 houses on the left after the start. I mean...there are a few different types of fence/wall symbols that certainly would have been appropriate to use. Video looked a little shaky, do you have stabilization disabled? Thx.

Pretty hard! 😄 But so fun! I ran men and i was really lost sometimes. Great competition and courses both days i`m so looking forward to next year. Super fun to watch this video keep making them 👍

Super movie. Very difficult terrain. When I watch a movie, my legs hurt.

Whatever that control was at 48:00 seemed to be off by one entire landform. Looked like it should have been in the longer reentrant with the denser brush vs the erosion gulley...two drastically different terrain features.

Good run, and thank you for adding the map overlay sidebar...👍🏻...on your latest video though, it appears the Momentary blur issue followed from this one...where the micro insert is blurry...however both the mini and the micro nav maps on that one are indistinct.

Great event, especially leg 4 -> 5. I thought you'd cracked it when you hit the spiral staircase at F for the first time. Very well planned & organised.

Hi Tony, can't help but notice last 2 or 3 videos, even at 1080p, quality is very blocky / pixilated.... camera problem??

Hmmm…im looking at the routegadget site…noticing the event has “light green” and “short green” courses…sounds like a blending we do of white/yellow…and yellow/orange…we rarely if ever use a level that requires iof symbols only…but we dona lot of score-o,s…

Is this event on livelox? F so, maybe promoting that fact would be nice for folks who want to at least view the route choices and compare legs between competitors. Thanks.

The more i watch…the more i see poorly categorized control locations…#7 “open land”? Looked “between hedgerow and building”…

I wonder if the green shirted girl just punched the wrong control at #5….😲…you realized the first one was not yours…👍

What a difference in route choice to #4!!! The girl wearing green was going there too while you were going for #3, but was just leaving it…because she went to the left and longer way around the building!

Odd…#1 did not look like “northwest edge” of a feature…which i cant recognize on the cluesheet…a tree maybe? I wouldve said its the “northeast corner of open land”…

Hi I have a 7 acre maize maze in Lincolnshire. Wondering how I could use it for an orienteering exercise. Also interested in how it could maybe be an exercise schools could be interested in. Is this something you could help me with or suggest who to contact for advice? Thank you Steve

we noticed plenty of younger orienteers (and one older gentleman) crossing uncrossable boundaries and even throwing their Si card in the air to catcha beep. More education needed. It is frustrating for those who abide by the rules.

Control 3 was misplaced?

Very clean until 15, then a howler on 18: Did you still qualify for the A final?

I was helping on the day so I didn't get a feel for the action, so it's great to see this!

It would be much easier to evaluate route choices and execution if you showed each leg with the map correctly oriented! Nice run btw, no obvious mistakes or hesitations. 🙂

Hope you liked it! Next time (2023/24?) we’ll put up some barriers etc. We have already made changes to the map. Thanks for recording the event for posterity.

Is it possible to better capture the action of punching the control? Most punching happens off-screen and the aim of finding the control is kind of lost.

Nice one again. Two races on the same day in same building? It's a lot easier at home in rest and with time to study the map 😉. And even then it's a complex puzzle. What happens at 15:20 ? I think you did first stage little better than this one. Few bad controls here (5, 12, 13). Wasn't it possible to go to 2nd floor with the I-stairs? You took I- to 1st and then N-stairs to 2nd everytime.

That was a nice indoor orienteering map/location again! Not easy with all those stairs and different kind of classrooms, one way corridors, two separate buildings and so on. Also really something else than Mauritius 😉. If you ask me only a bit too busy here/too many people running at the same time. Almost impossible to run because of that sometimes.

Certainly looked a very tough course, a very different animal to the previous day. Looked as though it was best to stay out of the vegetation if possible! And that fence just after control 15, was it marked on the map? Couldn't see it! What was the temperature while you were out. Bet you were well tired at the finish.
